The earthquake that created the lake registered 7.5 on the Richter scale, which led to an 80-ton landslide. The landslide created a dam for the Madison River and stopped water flow, making the lake.
Not only is Quake Lake suitable for ice hockey, but it’s also a popular fishing location. The timbers that stick out of the water cause fish to gather nearby. The lake provides plenty of excitement for local fishermen.
