CountryBucket is where you come to feel good for a few minutes. It’s where you watch a performance that puts a chill up your arm, meet a dog who’s a better person than most people, revisit the TV shows that raised us, and remember the way things used to be.

If a story is kind, clean, and worth your time, it belongs in the bucket. If it’s mean, cheap, or bait, it doesn’t.

What’s in the bucket

• Critters. Animals doing what animals do, which is mostly outshining the rest of us.
• Main Stage. Performances, auditions, and voices that stop you mid-scroll.
• Heartstrings. Keep the tissues close. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
• Classic TV. Lucy, Carson, Barney Fife, and the whole gang.
• Homestead. Gardens, kitchens, porches, and the good slow life.
• Back in the Day. The way things were, and sometimes the way we only remember them being.
• Our Veterans. Saluting the folks who wrote a blank check to this country.
• Dang Funny. Exactly what it sounds like.

Who we are

CountryBucket is made by a small independent crew based in Wellton, Arizona, a little desert town off Interstate 8 where the sunsets do most of the talking. Our editor has been publishing on the internet since the dial-up days, more than twenty-five years now, and still believes the best thing a website can do is make somebody’s day a little lighter. There’s no newsroom tower and no big-city media company behind us. Just people, a lot of coffee, and a supervisory committee of rescue cats.

How we work

We aim to get things right. Stories are checked against original sources where they exist, performers and creators are credited for the work they made, and when we get something wrong we fix it and say so. If you spot an error, email give-us-a-hollar@countrybucket.com and we’ll set it straight.
