‘The Carol Burnett Show’ really examined relationships in the funniest ways. This time Carol and Harvey play a couple who just can’t get along. The results are simply hysterical from Season 3, Episode 11.
Carol and Harvey walk into the living room, and Carol says with a stuffy nose, “I don’t mind you playing poker with the fellas, but why do you have to do it here?” Harvey tells her because it’s his home.
She asks if he could take consideration of her, but Harvey says he lets her have her girlfriends over for coffee all the time. Carol complains to Harvey as he moves around constantly to grab food to put out for the big game.
She complains that his friends are slobs, and it takes her a week to clean up the mess they make. Then, Harvey’s friends start walking into the house as Carol grabs the door for them. One man throws his coat to Carol and walks in laughing. The next one walks in, throws his jacket at Carol, and says she looks terrible.
She explains it’s because she has a cold, and he inadvertently puffs his cigar smoke in her face, and she coughs outrageously. The next guy walks in and says, “Hi, Marge!” Carol just stares at him in disbelief and anger. Then, the final guy walks in and tells Carol it’s his night to win, and she pushes him to the table. They all sit at the table and talk while Carol tries to call Harvey’s name, but he doesn’t hear her.
She says, “If you don’t turn around right now, I’ll pull every hair out of your head. And that won’t take long!” She screams at him, and the men get silent. She tells him she wants them all out by 11 because she can’t stand them. Harvey argues but eventually agrees and tells her to get tea and go upstairs.
He asks Carol to grab them a few beers and a sandwich first! Carol screams from the other room with no words. Later, Carol is running around yelling at all the men, and Harvey walks through the bathroom door and hits her in the head. She falls right into his arms, and he carries her up the stairs and tells the boys to deal him in!
