Sunny is a special needs duck that no one wanted until Sarah found him and took him home. She gave him his name because he is a ray of sunshine to everyone who meets him.
Sarah found Sunny outside a store all by himself. He had a tiny poof on his head, and Sarah could not leave without him. She had other ducklings at the time and put him with them.
Ducklings typically gather together and cuddle, but Sunny's flock left him alone by himself. He didn't grow for two weeks, and the vet found he had an upper respiratory infection.
Sunny was on oral antibiotics for two weeks and finally got bigger like the other ducks. Sarah also discovered that the crest on his head was a genetic mutation.
They spent a lot of time together, and Sunny would take naps while tucked into Sarah's shirt. He was blind in his left eye and didn't mind being picked up.
