As last-minute babysitters and keepers of family recipes, grandmas are universally celebrated family members. But the grandmas in this hilarious video have banded together to form a union of southern grannies.
Stereotypically, grandmothers are doting, compassionate women who want nothing less than the best for their grandchildren. While that is true of these three grannies, these women are not messing around.
They came prepared for a fight and with a list of demands. It is clear from the beginning that this is not only for them. These leaders came to defend the rights of grandmothers everywhere.
The atmosphere and music in this sketch were tense as the three southern grandmas approached the meeting room. Their demands began even before the meeting commenced. If this meeting was going to happen, they needed to have rocking chairs.
Once they were seated, the high-stakes union meeting could begin in earnest. The grandmothers informed the two parents that the press was also aware of their demands. In other words, what happened in this meeting would make its way to the media.
As a viewer, it was clear who had the power in the room. The three grannies were the textbook definition of confident and competent. That sense of self-assuredness did not fade as the demands were listed.
