Most people's parental instincts kick in when they hear a baby deer or fawn crying. If this video does not warm your heart, nothing will. An orphaned baby deer asks for help. She is struggling in the river when a group of friends finds her. They heard the baby’s cries and went to save her. Woodlands wildlife sanctuary was contacted, and they said to release her nearby in case mama was around.
Hours later, she was found crying and wandering around all alone. She was weak and hungry as she walked toward her rescuers. As she got up close, she seemed almost to rest her head between the legs of one of the rescuers. The sanctuary determined that the mama was not around, and the baby needed help, so she was taken there and named Ivy.
They bottle-fed her, and she got some rest and was given love and care. After a couple of days, Ivy was feeling much better. She began spending her time outside surrounded by the grass and other lush greenery. She was so happy, and she felt truly loved and thankful for her caregivers. She showered them with licks and cries of joy. Another orphaned fawn came to the rescue, a little buck named Indy. He was weak and hungry, but with proper care, he, too, got better.
Ivy and Indy quickly bonded, and Ivy had a companion to share her days with. For weeks, it was just the two of them, but more deer showed up, creating an exceptional herd. The following spring, Ivy and Indy were released back into the wild. They were released together, and they stayed together. Ivy knew she would never have to be alone and scared again.
