Nathan Selove, diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome at age nine, faced challenges in school. Adopting a golden retriever service dog named Sylvia improved Nathan's life significantly by helping him manage his meltdowns and social interactions.
It’s no secret that adopting a dog can completely change a person’s life for the better.
For many young people who are just starting out in life or struggling in school, these aide dogs can also help them form their own identity, find self-worth, achieve happiness and make friends. Nathan Selove is one of these people. At 9 years old, Nathan was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, a form of high-functioning autism and between his seemingly never-ending meltdowns and being bullied by classmates; he was having a lot of trouble in school. However, when he and his parents adopted service dog Sylvia, everything started to change in a more positive direction
