It's just another winter night in Bryant Park, Manhattan. People are laughing and cheering while they skate - a favorite seasonal pastime for the locals. It may seem like a normal night, but a skater is about to show us something.
He's wearing a red sweater, and, let's be honest, he seems quite bad at skating. Also, it could become dangerous for him because the announcer had just informed everyone about an ice cut and resurfacing.
Everybody swiftly moved to the edge, careful not to bump into one another. The man in the red sweater kept struggling as he clumsily tried to get to safety. People started giggling and laughing at his inexperience.
Once he had everyone’s attention, he moved ever so slightly with intent. Gradually, his strides became more and more confident as he elegantly glided across the smooth surface, raising a leg and balancing himself with perfect posture.
If it wasn't obvious enough, this is no amateur skater. He is an expert, or maybe even a professional. The giggling and whispering crowd squinted and couldn’t make sense of the whole thing.
The expert skater performed just enough to turn the jeering crowd into a cheering crowd. The ones laughing weren’t laughing anymore. The man in the red sweater very delicately reminded everyone to be humble - at all times.
