Alan Jackson's Moving Tribute to His Mother

Country music superstar Alan Jackson wrote a heartfelt tribute to his mother. A tribute he performed at her funeral.

Alan Jackson is one of the songwriters of the modern era who understands a song's cathartic power. “The fun ones for me are always the sad one, the sadder, the better,” Jackson said.

Unfortunately, he had a lot of inspiration—one of those being the passing of his mother, Ruth Musick Jackson. “Mama Ruth” was his source of inspiration for many songs, including ‘Where Her Heart Has Always Been’.
